| Following are drawings and
instructions on how to set up the Domino Rally stunts that are included
in this set. To help you put the stunts together for the first time, it's
a good idea to have an adult assemble them with you. Don't forget to try
out each stunt before you create your own patterns-so that you can see
how they work. |
Suggestions:
-
Set up your dominoes on a smooth,
level surface
-
Leave about 1/2 inch between each
regular domino-or 1 domino width. This is how far apart the dominoes need
to be to knock each other down when in a straight line.
-
When arranging your regular dominoes
in curves, you will have to put them a little closer together.
-
When setting up regular dominoes,
try setting them up in groups of 10, then leave some space and set up another
group. When you're almost done with the design, fill the spaces in between.
That way, if you accidentally knock a domino down during set up, all the
dominoes in your design won't be knocked over.

Sheet (not shown).
PIVOT DOMINO TRACK ASSEMBLY.
Note: Read carefully BEFORE
assembling.
| There are two sides to the
pivot dominoes: a flat side and a hollow side. When inserted into the pivot
domino tracks, the pivot dominoes will fall flat side down. Be sure that
all pivot dominoes on each track face the same way. |
| To insert the pivot
dominoes- into the pivot domino tracks, put one pivot post into the pivot
hole on the track. Then press down gently and the other pivot post will
snap into the pivot hole on the opposite side of the track.
Once the pivot dominoes have
been inserted into the pivot tracks, DO NOT REMOVE THEM.
Note: We have included a few
extra pivot dominoes in case of assembly error. |

ASSEMBLING YOUR STUNTS.
Please refer to the accompanying
illustrations when assembling stunts. Make sure assembled stunts work properly
BEFORE adding them to your layout.
Rocket Launcher:
Place the label on the rocket
body as shown in the picture on the box lid. Gently put the rocket body
into the rocket base as shown in Figure 1, making sure the rocket body
is seated in the base as far as it will go. Set the rocket aside for now. |
Tower Frame
Assembly
You will need Bags 54 and 56
to put the tower frame together.
1. Place the triangle labels
on the top three spaces on both sides of tower frame halves.
2. Insert the latch posts into
the notches of the slide (Figure 1).
3. Place the lower tower frame
half (with 3 posts) on a flat surface as shown in Figure 2.
|
 |
| 4. Slide the numbered signs
onto the three posts in the order: 3, 2, 1 from top to bottom as shown
in Figure 2.
5. Hold the slide and latch
sideways (Figure 2) and lower the slide onto the lower half of the frame,
making sure posts "A" on the bottom side of the slide go into slot "B".
Check to see that the slide moves freely (slides up and down) in the lower
frame.
6. Move the slide all the way
in the direction of the arrows (towards the top of the frame).
7. Holding the top half of the
tower frame at an angle, position it over the lower half and slide tab
"C" into notch "D" as shown in Figure 2.
8. Press down the bottom of
the top half of the tower frame so post "E" slides into the locating hole
as shown in Figure 2.
Put completed assembly aside
temporarily. |
Launchpad Assembly
You will need the remaining
parts from bags 54 and 56 to finish the launchpad.
1. Place the launchpad upside
down on a flat surface. With the trigger button positioned as shown in
Figure 3, slide the trigger button end through the launchpad opening and
rest the posts onto the notches.
2. Position the leaf spring
as shown in Figure 3 and slip the notch at the end of the leaf spring under
the retaining tab on the base. Lower the other end of the leaf spring to
the tab. Press down and snap the lock into place as shown in drawing E.
3. To install the levers, turn
the launchpad right side up. Position the lever as shown in drawing F,
Figure 4. Insert the long post first into the notch. Then press down gently
so that the short post goes into the other notch. After both posts are
locked into place, the lever should move up and down freely. Insert the
two remaining levers into the two other notches on the launchpad.
4. Take the assembled tower
(holding the two halves together at the bottom) and hold it over the notches
in the launchpad (Figure 4). Make sure the flags (3, 2, 1) on the lower
frame face the forward end of the launchpad. |
 |
| 5. Place the four
locking tabs into the four notches and push down firmly until all tabs
are locked into place.
6. Place the rocket over the
launchpad as shown in Figure 4 with the locking notch (square hole in the
base of the rocket) facing toward the forward end of the launchpad. Push
the rocket firmly into the launchpad base until you feel it lock into
place.
Note: Before removing your hand
from the rocket, make sure it is firmly locked into place.
7. Raise the three levers up
and rest them against the rocket fins (Figure 5). |
 |
To Operate the Rocket Launcher:
1. Carefully hold the steel
ball in the top of the frame as shown in Figure 5.
2. Holding the steel ball in
place with one hand, gently raise the slide lever up with your other hand
and put it back towards you so that it stays locked in the "up" position.
Gently let go of the steel ball. The raised slide lever will now
hold it in place.
3. When the last domino in the
lead row falls against the slide lever (latch), the steel ball is
released and falls down inside the lower frame, setting off the flags in
order: 3, 2, 1. The steel ball then hits the trigger button and launches
the rocket. When the rocket is launched, the three levers are thrown
outward by the rocket fins-setting off rows of tumbling dominoes for more
incredible fun and action! |

Starburst:
1. Remove the five L-shaped
operating triggers from the plastic frame.
2. The base of the Starburst
is made up of two circular parts that snap together. Put the deeper of
the two circles on a flat surface, open side up. Put the five triggers
in position as shown. Pick up the circle and make sure the triggers swing
freely in their slots.
Note: The deep cut out in the
base is not used as a trigger position (Figure 6)- Put the deep circles
back down on the flat surface.
3. Hold the operating lever
so the "A" on ft handle is facing up. Place the operating lever in the
circle so that the handle rests in the deep cut-out, it should also swing
freely in the slot (Figure 7).
4. Now take the shallow circle
and hold it flat side up over the assembly. The "A" on the shallow circle
should be directly over the deep cut-out where the operating lever is resting.
Make sure the prongs on the shallow circle are lined up with holes on the
deep circle base and press down firmly to lock the two parts together.
(Figure 8).
5. Turn the Starburst right
side up and apply the Starburst label as shown in the picture on the box
lid. |
 |
| 6. Line up a row of dominoes
in front of the operating lever and each of the five operating triggers.
When the lead domino hits the operating lever, it will release the triggers
to tumble five rows of dominoes in five different directions! |
THE BRIDGE:
Place regular dominoes on the
steps and across the top of the Bridge for action that goes up, across
and down! Put rows of dominoes beneath the bridge for a great multi-level
look!
ZIG ZAG:
There are two sides of the
pivot dominoes: a flat side and a hollow side. The flat side of the pivot
dominoes should face up the stairs (Figure 9). The arrow shows you
which way the dominoes should fall. To insert the pivot dominoes, put one
pivot post into the pivot hole on the Zig Zag. Then press down gently and
the other pivot post will snap into the pivot hole on the opposite side.
Snap five pivot dominoes into the Zig Zag. |
 |
 |
| Note: Once the pivot dominoes
have been inserted, DO NOT REMOVE THEM. We have included extra pivot dominoes
in case of assembly error.
Tip the Zig Zag so the dominoes
stand up. Put it down gently so the dominoes don't fall. There is an opening
at the bottom of the Zig Zag where the marble comes out as shown in Figure
10. Place the marble in the groove to complete the set up. |
