Trivia Game
For 2 to 6 players
Ages 6 to adult

Instructions

Object:
Be the first player to collect a rainbow arc from each of the five categories, race to the Emerald City and then answer one more question to win.

Contents:
Gameboard, 150 Trivia cards including 50 picture cards, 6 Emerald City movers, rainbow arcs, game die.

Set Up:
Each player takes a different color mover and places it on any Ruby Slipper space (two movers can share the same space). Remove the rainbow arcs from the frame. Place the arcs off to the side and give them out as players earn them. Separate the picture cards from the regular cards, creating two separate decks.

Each player rolls the die. The player who rolls the highest number goes first, then play moves to the left.

Playing:
On your turn roll the die and move your mover that many spaces. You can move to the left or to the right on any turn, but you can only move in one direction per turn. Each space on the board is framed in a color, which determines the category of the question you will be asked:

BLUE = LINES & DIALOGUE

RED = CHARACTERS

GREEN = ODDS & ENDS

YELLOW = BEHIND THE SCENES

PURPLE = LAND OF OZ

The player to your left takes the top card from the deck and reads aloud the question for that category. Some questions are true or false, some offer multiple choices and others are straightforward.

Note: For younger players, the player to the left will use the top card from the picture deck.

If you answer the question correctly, take the corresponding color arc and place it on your mover. Take another turn, and so on, until you answer a question incorrectly. The next player now takes his or her turn.

Note: if you land on a space with a category for which you already have an arc, your turn simply ends (you do not answer a question in this situation.)

Remember: look to your left and right to see which way is best for you to go!

The Ruby Slippers: if you land on a Ruby Slippers space, roll again.

Ending and Winning the Game:
Once you have all five arcs on your mover, place it on the Ruby Slippers space that's halfway around the board from the Emerald City (it's between a picture of Toto and the Wicked Witch of the West).

On your next turn, roll the die and move that many spaces around the board. You DO NOT answer any questions at this point ... you are simply racing to reach the Emerald City. Once you reach the Emerald City (you do not need exact count), you have to answer one more question to win.

Without looking at the next card, the other players discuss among themselves which category of question to ask you. One of the other players reads the corresponding question. If you answer it correctly, you win. Otherwise, stay in the city until your next turn when the group decides again which question to ask you and so on.
